....While Riding my Bicycle....

So, one day at our neighbor's garage sale, there were bunches of awesome old cruiser bikes for sale. We got two of them. One is a very cool rusty red color with a very, very large bike basket on it. The other one... not as cool. The seat was waaaaaay to high for anyone to sit on it (makes you wonder how tall the owner of it was...), it had had around three paint jobs, and it didn't have a basket. Well, I am in need of a bike. I don't have one right now so I asked my dad if I could have it and if we could fix it up, and I have some pictures to show how it turned out, all the way from what it looked like before to how it looks now.... enjoy :)

Here's the before picture. In this picture the seat has been shortened, so sadly you don't get to see the seat when it was at a ridiculous height.

Then my dad and I sanded some of the layers of paint and rust away.

Then my dad spray painted the frame in vintage-y blue and green...

And this is the amazing finished product!!!! While I was at camp, my parents got me an awesome bike basket and a sweeeeeeet bell :) It's so fun to ride, and I'm so glad I have it.

Oh yeah, I want to tell you where the title for this post came from. I was looking up bicycle quotes when I came across this one: "I thought of that while riding my bicycle." -Albert Einstein
I just really liked it :)

Thanks!!!!

  1. Maddie, it is absolutely the cutest bike! It will look so wonderful in Texas. Don't ya think?! I have always loved the colors you painted the bike. Now time will only tell what 'great' things will be 'thought' of while riding your bike.
Gonna name it? What about 'sweeeeeet bell'?

  3. Dude, I want your bike. Like really bad. I want to get a beach cruiser for Florida since we can ride our bikes to the grocery store and come back with them in our baskets. :) Walmart has a cute one but it has too many mountain bike features for me. :( If you see any good cruiser deals any where, please tell me!
